Школа без границ.

Today we are talking to two teachers Irina Khomenko and Victoria Riumina, who are opening the first Russian school in Alanya (Turkey). We ask anything about the project that we wish to know.

So the first question is: How did this idea come about?

Irina:

In October 2013, 65 teachers of our school CLASSICA-M celebrated the 15th anniversary of its foundation in Alanya. We knew about the growing number of Russian families who permanently live in this region. We understood the importance of giving children an education in their native language. We discussed the idea at length but it was only due to our big experience and the constant support of our Headmistress that we could finally do it.

Victoria :

This year our Moscow school turns 16. It has become a respectable and reliable educational institution. We are sure it is one of the best ones in the Moscow region nowadays. About 300 children from 4 till 17 study here. And we are proud of the quality of their education. In this school year 34 of our students received prestigious awards while taking part in various competitions in Maths, Russian, English, French, German and other subjects in the City of Moscow and in the region. Our students constantly and successfully enter the best Universities of Moscow. Many of them have the opportunity to study free of charge. Some of them also can continue their education in Europe and America.

Irina:

Many of our former students graduated successfully and are taking different career paths in a number of countries. We are so happy for them. They are the best examples of modern young people.

Victoria :

I'd like to say that the role of our Headmistress Ida Brodovskaya is very important. She has managed to create a wonderful team of teachers. She has run this school for all these years and done everything to guarantee excellent education. Let's speak about the actual project : what is the status of a new school in Alanya.

Irina:

The school in Alanya will be a twin-school of our Moscow school. I am talking about the program and the system of education. And we will do our best to bring the spirit of our school to Alanya as the children must understand that "it is a great privilege to study". Our good relationship and mutual respect to all the students, teachers and parents make a good basis for children to turn into successful young people who can feel absolutely free not only in the country but in the whole world.

Victoria:

I would like to mention that students of the school in Alanya after finishing the school will be able to pass Russian State exams and get the State Certificate of Complete Secondary Education. It will give them a chance for free further education in Russia and also to try for the other universities in the world. The main point is the high quality of education.

Irina:

In our program we pay special attention to Maths, Russian and Languages. Our school in Moscow region is a Cambridge Preparation Center and we guarantee an international level of education for our students. What is so special about the Turkish branch of the school?

Victoria:

First of all it is Turkish as a foreign language, which will be a subject studied through all the years. And as you know it is impossible to learn it without studying the history and traditions of the country.

Irina:

Another very important goal for us is to save the native language of our students and encourage them to keep links with Russia. And what can you say about your teachers? Where are they from?

Victoria:

Some teachers will come from our school in Moscow. Another group of the staff are locals from Alanya. All of them are well-qualified teachers capable and willing to work hard. We wanted to establish a unique team that will touch the souls of our students. How was it possible to organize this project in Turkey?

Irina:

We managed to do it because many people supported us. From the beginning we were welcomed by the officials of Alanya and by all the people around. But the principal role in the success of the project belongs to the Kadıoğlu family and Mr. Cuma Kadıoğlu personally. Thanks to him it became real. There are no doubts about that. It makes us feel appreciated.

Victoria:

This is a very respectable family and they are successful in several businesses in Alanya and Turkey as well. From the very beginning when Cuma became our partner, he was doing a lot to open the school. Kadıoğlu CONSTRUCTION and REAL ESTATES are now involved in renovation of the school building and bringing the project to life. Great! Thank you for the interview. How can our readers find some information about the school?
